A few years ago we are; Valentijn and Yvonne van der Valk, settled in sunny Puy Saint Vincent. We literally cycled on our world tour and fell in love with the rugged nature of the National Parc des Ecrins, the authentic village, all the sports you can do here and of course the abundance of sun. We wanted to stay here longer!
From Bergcamping, to Luxury Chalet to Mountainhotel!
So we started with the pleasure of managing the Camping Croque Loisirs. In the winter we supported Vincent and Ilonka Biermans with their Chalet AlpeLune. Both accommodations are in Puy Saint Vincent. In this way we quickly became more and more interwoven with the special and simple existence in the Southern French Alps.
We decided to build a living here, found a nice house and our three children were born here. When we could buy Mountainhotel Saint Roch a few years ago, a hectic time started, but at the same time a dream came true for us!
Why a hotel?
Valentijn van der Valk grew up with the dynamics of hotel life by his family. A world in which he is completely in his element. Valentijn met Yvonne at the Van der Valk hotel in Eindhoven. She also loves to give the guests a great 'home' feeling. The passion to create the conditions to give our guests a wonderful holiday can be lost in our own cozy mountain hotel!
The search for a special place to live
We have transformed the hotel into an atmospheric and pleasant place with the help of many dear relatives and friends. Every year we try to 'upgrade' something new to make this place even more of an ultimate basecamp for your holiday in the mountains.
The bikes that we used to cycle around the world at the time, on the campsite in summer & winter, were our only means of transport and have given us a lot of adventure in a search for a special place to live, you can now find our hotel. We have found our home and hope that you will experience it here as well.
What can you do with us?
Our hotel is a great starting point for a lot of adventures. In winter you can fully enjoy a fully catered winter holiday. From our Mountain hotel you can immediately go on the slopes and in the evening you can enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere in the living room by the fireplace!
In the summer our hotel is the starting point for cyclists, mountain bikers, hikers and families who love outdoor activities such as via ferrata, rafting or canyoning. What you can do here we have collected on this website. That is where the fun of your holiday starts!
